ACSM Annual Meeting 2008

At the American College of Sports Medicine Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana this week. Always a good place to run into old friends and colleagues.
I had a presentation last night at the Strength and Conditioning Special Interest Group Meeting. My presentation was titled "Update on Research Relative to the ACSM Position Stand on Progression Models in Resistance Training”. Here is a link the the SIG blog:
The talk was fairly well attended and well received. Thank you to all that made the presentation and for all of your comments and questions after the session - also to all my family and friend for putting up with me leading up to this presentation...

Italy

I was recently invited by a good friend and colleague, Dr. Stefano Balducci, to present some of the research I have been involved with at a conference in Rome, Italy. Dr. Balducci is one of the leading researchers on exercise interventions and diabetes.

The conference was titled The Metabolic Syndrome: An Update on Exercise Training and Metabolic Health. The conference was sponsored by the Metabolic Fitness Association and the U.O.C. Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Second Faculty, University of Rome "Sapienza"

This was my first visit to Rome. A city filled with a sense of history. I was taken by the architecture, food and culture. Ancient and Imperial Rome have a left me in a state of awe.

I did make it to Trevi Fountain and threw a couple coins over my right shoulder as a means of assuring a return visit.

Daniel Dodd graduate with a Doctor of Philosophy from the Physical Activity, Nutrition and Wellness program with his dissertation titled "Comparison of Psychological and Physiological Response in Firefighters"

Congratulations to two of my "Boyz"
